Admissions Policies and Procedures

Entrance Requirements

IWS follows universally accepted standards for entrance into its programs of study.

Students requesting admission to the D.W.S. program must have:

  • a bachelor's degree
  • master's degree
  • ministry in the local church or a Christian organization

Students requesting admission to the M.W.S. program must have:

  • bachelor's degree
  • ministry in the local church or a Christian organization

Application Procedures

Admission to the M.W.S. and D.W.S. program is done on a rolling basis. Check the calendar for dates of upcoming sessions. New students may begin during the January or June semester. An application to either degree program contains the following:

  • A completed application form. You may either complete the application form online or you may print a copy of the application from the back of the Academic Catalog
  • A statement of 300 words or less indicating how you believe you would profit from being a part of this academic program
  • A letter of recommendation from your pastor or another leader in Christian ministry who knows you well
  • Official transcripts of your postsecondary education (Associates, Bachelors and Masters degrees, as applicable)
  • A non-refundable application fee of $50.00 (by check, money order, or on-line credit card payment)

IWS students must have regular access to the Internet for the purposes of receiving course assignments and submitting work to be graded.

The Institute for Worship Studies admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.
