IWS Worship Seminar
The Beauty and Glory of the Triune God:
Grounding Worship in the Doctrine of God
Dr. John Witvliet
Seminar description: It is striking how many books about worship have so little to say about God. The nature and character of God is simply assumed, allowing for all sorts of inconsistencies, heresies, misconceptions, and pious sentiments to obscure a biblical vision. Yet orthodox and vital Christians throughout history have remained convinced that the nature of God, revealed in scripture and especially in Jesus, should shape the nature of the worship we offer. These sessions of doxological reflection and study will offer us space to rediscover the kind of beauty and glory that the Bible speaks of when it speaks of God and to probe how worship renewal can more fully be grounded in this vision. |
